Genital Windows
Two large light boxes with laser cut steel MAKS insignia atop painted imagery. The steel shields represent male and female signs. The male sign is the electronic sign of a resistor, and the female a capacitor. Did you know the universal sign of anger is mutilated genitalia?
MAKS: Meet the Artist 10/21/16
“MAKS: Meet the Artist” was an installation shown at Hood Gallery in Brooklyn NY, October 2016. Nineteen paintings were hung. Landscapes, portraits and crime scenes were chosen as subjects. The room was pitch black. Certain paintings were illuminated with LEDS based on cues from electronic music pumped into the space from loudspeakers. The music ranged from ambient electronica, harsh noise and techno.
